Shooting/Homicide in North City, St. Louis
St. Louis City Police District 6 officers responded to a shooting at the 4400 block of Marcus Avenue around 6:10 PM. One adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide detectives are currently investigating the case.

Wilmington Shooting Update:
A woman in her 40s was shot multiple times in the legs Monday, marking the fourth shooting victim in Wilmington today. Authorities are investigating the incident. No suspects have been identified yet.

ATV Tragedy in Alabama Claims Two Lives, Seven Children Injured

Marcus Ragland of Rome tragically died Sunday in an ATV accident at an Alabama ATV park. Ashley Hawkins, mother of two of his children, also lost her life in the crash. Seven children were on the ATV at the time and required medical attention.

Audrey Dunn, who shares a 5-year-old and 1-year-old with Ragland, opened up about the painful reality she faces with her eldest son.
“My oldest son, he’s five, he remembers everything that happened,” Dunn told 11Alive. “He told me when we got to the hospital, and I got to go in, he said, ‘Mom, my dad died, but it’s OK because he’ll be back to get me tomorrow…’ He doesn’t understand that he will never see him again.”

Our hearts go out to the families affected by this unimaginable loss.

In contrast, former President Trump’s statement fell short, failing to acknowledge the broader crisis of mass shootings gripping our nation.

Obama wrote on X:
“We can’t allow ourselves to become numb to mass shootings. What happened today in Minneapolis is heartbreaking, and Michelle and I are praying for the parents who have lost a child or will be sitting at their hospital bedside after yet another act of unspeakable, unnecessary violence.”

Meanwhile, Trump tweeted:
“I have been fully briefed on the tragic shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The FBI quickly responded and they are on the scene. The White House will continue to monitor this terrible situation. Please join me in praying for everyone involved!”

Notice the difference: Obama calls out the unnecessary nature of these shootings and the epidemic of gun violence, while Trump offers empty platitudes without addressing the root cause — the ongoing refusal by Republican lawmakers to enact common-sense gun laws.

The tragic shooting took place during mass at Annunciation Catholic School, which serves preschool through eighth grade. Two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed, and 17 others injured. The shooter, armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, is dead.

Second Gunshot Victim in Meridian Over Labor Day Weekend

MERIDIAN, MS — A man was shot Sunday night near the intersection of 39th Avenue and 10th Street, marking the second gunshot victim in Meridian during the Labor Day weekend.

Witnesses reported hearing four to five gunshots. The victim was struck once in the stomach but managed to flee the scene, running toward Frank Berry Courts near 40th Avenue and 9th Street.

Metro Ambulance promptly transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Minneapolis Teen Charged in Downtown Shooting Incident

Keontre Orie Emery Jackson, 19, has been charged with three felonies following a shooting near a downtown Minneapolis apartment complex on August 7.

Jackson faces:

• Two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon

• One count of threats of violence

According to investigators, officers responded shortly after 11:25 p.m. to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire near 14th Street East and Nicollet Avenue. Two men were found with gunshot wounds—one shot in the back with a bullet piercing his lung, and the other shot in the wrist.

Jackson’s girlfriend told police he had assaulted her earlier and threatened to shoot her before fleeing and warning others, who were then targeted by Jackson.

Surveillance footage captured Jackson—wearing a red sweatshirt and carrying a blue duffel bag—opening fire on the victims as they tried to escape. Evidence recovered at the scene included 9mm and .45 caliber shell casings and bullet fragments.

Jackson was arrested on August 26 while carrying a 9mm pistol. He denied involvement despite surveillance evidence and inconsistencies in his alibi. A search of his mother’s residence uncovered clothing matching that seen in the video.

Jackson’s bail was set at $150,000 conditional and $250,000 unconditional. If released, he would face strict restrictions including electronic monitoring and a no-contact order with the victims. He remains in custody pending trial.

The number of deadly shootings in Wichita today is heartbreaking.

My husband was filming a scene near 29th and Broadway for KWCH 12 News, capturing the aftermath of one of the shootings.

So far, there have been at least three fatalities and four injuries from shootings across the city today.
