It is with immense grief and a heart weighed down by sorrow that I share the tragic passing of my dear friend, Marybeth Robinson. Her life was senselessly taken in a car accident caused by another’s careless actions and decisions. There are moments in life that divide time into “before” and “after,” and losing Marybeth is one of those moments. The world feels dimmer without her radiant presence, and yet her light continues to shine in the lives she so deeply touched.
Marybeth was truly a rare gem of a friend. I first met her through Defend the Fatherless, and what began as a shared heart for vulnerable children quickly grew into a deep and cherished friendship. From the very beginning, it was clear that she carried something special — a quiet strength, a steady faith, and a kindness that flowed so naturally from who she was. She didn’t strive to be extraordinary; she simply lived faithfully, and in doing so, she became exactly that.
She carried kindness, grace, and compassion everywhere she went. It wasn’t performative or fleeting — it was woven into her character. Marybeth had the kind of presence that made people feel seen, heard, and valued. Conversations with her were never rushed. She listened with intention, responded with wisdom, and offered encouragement that felt deeply rooted in truth and love.
Above all else, Marybeth deeply loved her beautiful family. Her devoted husband, Joey Robinson, was her partner and steady companion, and the respect and love between them was evident to anyone who knew them. Her two precious boys, Colton and Cannon, were the joy and center of her heart and soul. She spoke of them constantly — their milestones, their personalities, their laughter. Everything she did was grounded in her desire to love them well and raise them with faith, compassion, and strength.
Marybeth lived her calling through service and love. As a physical therapist, she cared for the elderly with extraordinary tenderness, dignity, and patience. She didn’t simply treat conditions — she treated people. She saw beyond physical limitations and honored the humanity and worth of every patient entrusted to her care. Families trusted her. Patients adored her. She brought light into hospital rooms and care facilities, offering not only healing hands but also a gentle spirit that reassured and uplifted.
Her heart for children was equally profound. She had a special tenderness for children of all ages and abilities and poured herself into supporting foster and adoptive families. She understood that loving vulnerable children requires both courage and compassion — and she had both in abundance. She and her family were in the process of finalizing the adoption of a precious special needs child from China before the pandemic closed international borders and paused their journey indefinitely. That loss weighed heavily on her heart. It was a grief few could fully understand. Yet even in disappointment and uncertainty, Marybeth continued to serve and encourage other families walking similar roads. Her faith did not falter; it deepened.
Shortly after her time with Defend the Fatherless, Marybeth and her family opened their home through kinship foster care. At the time of her passing, they were fostering a beautiful baby girl. Marybeth became this child’s fiercest advocate and strongest voice. She navigated complex systems, sleepless nights, and emotional challenges with steadfast resolve. And yet, even as she poured herself into protecting and loving this baby, she extended grace and understanding to the baby’s biological family — a reflection of her incredibly faithful and compassionate heart. She understood that brokenness requires mercy, and she lived that truth daily.
Marybeth was a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. Her smile was warm and constant, but more than that, her life radiated deep faith, wisdom, gentleness, and quiet strength. She was a devoted follower of Jesus, and her faith was not loud or showy — it was steady, lived out in everyday obedience, humility, and love. She offered godly, thoughtful counsel to friends who sought her advice. She prayed faithfully. She carried burdens alongside others without complaint. She embodied what it means to serve with both courage and tenderness.
Though her life was cut far too short, the impact she made on this earth is immeasurable. The love she gave to children, families, patients, and friends will continue to ripple outward in ways we may never fully see. Her fingerprints are on countless lives — in strengthened families, comforted patients, encouraged mothers, and children who felt safe in her arms.
Marybeth’s life reflected love, faith, and faithful service. She was a precious gift to this world. While we grieve deeply, we also give thanks for the beautiful years we were blessed to know her. Heaven gained a radiant soul, but our hearts ache with her absence.
Please pray for Joey, for Colton and Cannon, and for their extended family as they walk through this unimaginable season of grief. Pray for comfort that surpasses understanding, for strength in the days ahead, and for peace that can only come from the Lord. If you are able, please consider supporting them in tangible ways as they navigate life without their beloved wife and mother.
Fly high, my beautiful friend, and rest in the arms of Jesus. Your faith has become sight. Your love remains. You will be forever missed, forever cherished, and forever remembered. ✨🤍✨
