ST. LOUIS, MO — Just before 8:45 p.m. on Monday, September 1st, St. Louis City Police responded to a reported shooting at a gas station in the 5500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found a 25-year-old woman with her 1-year-old daughter, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. The mother told police the shooting occurred inside their home in the 1500 block of Clara Avenue, where she had been cooking while the child’s father, also 25, was present.

Absolutely Tragic 💔
A 13-year-old boy has died after a devastating fireworks accident Monday evening in Tulsa.

According to the @Tulsa Police Department, the boy and a group of friends were playing with fireworks around 5 p.m., when tragedy struck. A witness told police the boy was holding a mortar-style firework tube pointed toward his head when it was ignited.

Witnesses pulled him from a fire that broke out, and @Tulsa Fire Department firefighters immediately began life-saving measures. Sadly, the child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office in Lexington, Kentucky has identified the man who fell 40 feet at Red River Gorge and later died from his injuries.

The victim has been confirmed as a 24-year-old man from Mason, Ohio.

The tragic incident occurred at one of Kentucky’s most popular hiking and climbing destinations. Officials have not yet released further details about what led to the fall, and the investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday, August 24th, the Dones & Arroyo family experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Marvin Dones Jr, a loving father, brother, and friend, tragically drowned while on vacation in Puerto Rico.

Marvin was a devoted father to his son, three daughters, a stepdaughter, and was expecting a new baby. His sudden passing has left a massive void in the lives of those who loved him.

He was the heart of his family — known for his generosity, his radiant smile, and his unwavering love for his children. He supported not only his own but anyone in need.

With a very deep sadness, I’m sharing the news of Janeen’s sudden passing on Friday.

She brought so much joy, love, and light into my life — and into the lives of so many others. Her absence is felt profoundly, and we are all missing her now.

In keeping with Janeen’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. But we can honor her memory in the ways she lived:
— Each time we care for the earth or something that grows
— Each time we advocate for, serve, or stand beside the most vulnerable among us

I’m sharing a photo of Janeen from a fall camping trip — on a hike by a lake, with her backpack on and a smile on her face. That’s how I want to remember her: full of spirit, close to nature, and deeply present.
