Nashville, NC Murder Case Update

Victim:

• Calvin Akeem Ellis (aka “Chucky”) was fatally shot on Sunday, September 1, 2025, at 713 Smith Street. He later died at the hospital from multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial Investigation:

• False information was provided by individuals at the scene.

• Several suspects fled before police arrived.

Arrests Made (As of September 2, 2025):

1. Kever Thomas Lee

   • Charges: First-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder

   • Status: Held without bond; court appearance set for Sept. 4 at 9:00 a.m.

   • Note: On probation for Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling

2. Otha Chavis Jr.

   • Charges: Accessory After the Fact, Conspiracy to Commit Murder

   • Status: Held without bond; court appearance set for Sept. 4 at 9:00 a.m.

3. Patrick Richardson

   • Charge: Felony Obstruction of Justice

   • Status: $500,000 bond; court appearance on Sept. 4

   • Note: Was on parole for a rape-related offense; cut off ankle monitor and tried to flee

4. Juvenile (Name Withheld)

   • Charge: Conspiracy to Commit Murder

   • Status: In custody at Wake County Juvenile Detention Center

Tulsa Police Investigating Shooting
On September 3, Tulsa police responded to a shooting that left a 26-year-old hospitalized.

2 News Oklahoma’s Braden Bates was on the scene as detectives investigated the incident and worked to determine what led to the shooting.

More details will be released as the investigation continues. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Tulsa police.

We are absolutely devastated to share the news of the passing of our dear friend, Chuck Gianchinta.

While Chuck was no longer with us at Liz’s Café, he remained an important part of our lives and our hearts. His warmth, humor, and presence left a lasting impression—not only on us, but on everyone in the Provincetown community. His loss is profound and will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The mothers of Marcus Ragland’s children are doing their best to stay strong — not just for themselves, but for their little ones.

Despite Alexis Rios facing multiple charges, the District Attorney has yet to make an arrest. Our family is devastated, and we are filled with deep frustration and grief. But let it be known: we will not stop fighting for justice. We will not rest until she is held accountable and faces the consequences of her actions.

Our son was a fully developed, healthy baby, whose life was stolen before it even had a chance to begin—all because someone chose to drink and drive.
While Alexis Rios went home to her children that night, I was forced to plan a funeral for mine.
While she returned to her life, my husband lay in a coma.

This is not gossip. This is not drama. This is our reality.

In Loving Memory of Sam

We are heartbroken to share the tragic and sudden loss of our beloved Sam.

What began as a normal day turned into a nightmare when Sam was struck and killed by a car hauler in a parking lot while holding her baby girl, Marley. Authorities believe the driver may have been under the influence of drugs. In just one devastating moment, the lives of everyone who loved Sam were changed forever.

Sam was so much more than a victim of a terrible accident — she was full of life, love, and light. A devoted mother to her 1-year-old daughter Marley, a caring stepmother to 5-year-old Roman, a cherished daughter and sister, and a true and loyal friend to many. Her joyful spirit, infectious laughter, and kind heart will never be forgotten.

Now, her husband Kyle is left grieving and facing life as a single father. He must now raise Marley and Roman without the woman who was the center of their world.

In Loving Memory of Tyler K. Lind

The Gilman community is heartbroken following the tragic loss of Tyler K. Lind, 20, who passed away in a motorcycle accident late Sunday evening.

The crash occurred on eastbound U.S. Highway 12 near Airport Road in Middleton. Despite the swift response of emergency services, Tyler was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Tyler’s passing leaves an unfillable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was a young man full of potential, warmth, and spirit — and his memory will forever be held close by family, friends, and the broader community.
