Two Women Dead and One Missing After Tragic Accident at Dillon Falls, Deschutes County

DESCHUTES COUNTY, OR — A devastating accident at Dillon Falls has claimed the lives of two women and left a third person missing, authorities confirmed this week.

The victims have been identified as Amanda Lloyd, 40, of Rockwall, Texas, and Lindsay Bashan, 33, of Parkland, Florida. The tragedy occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, July 19, 2025, when a group of six individuals were floating down the Deschutes River.

According to reports, the group encountered dangerous conditions near Dillon Falls, a notoriously challenging section of the river known for its swift currents and rocky terrain. Emergency crews were dispatched after the accident was reported, but despite search and rescue efforts, Lloyd and Bashan were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third individual remains missing as search operations continue. Authorities are coordinating with local rescue teams and volunteers in an ongoing effort to locate the missing person.

Officials are urging the public to exercise extreme caution when recreating near Dillon Falls and to always heed safety warnings and advisories.
