Statement from Maple Leafs General Manager Brad Treliving on the Passing of Ken Dryden:

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ken Dryden. One of the game’s giants, Ken was the backbone of the Canadiens’ dynasty in the 1970s, a Hall of Fame goaltender who captured multiple Stanley Cups and set a standard of excellence at his position.

Beyond the crease, Ken was a true intellect of the game—an author, lawyer, politician, and advocate who brought thoughtfulness and integrity to everything he pursued. His contributions to hockey and to Canadian society as a whole went far beyond his legendary playing career.

While he wore the jersey of our greatest rival, Ken Dryden earned the admiration of fans and peers across the hockey world. His legacy will endure not only in the record books but in the hearts of those who love the game.

On behalf of the entire Toronto Maple Leafs organization, we extend our deepest condolences to Ken’s family, friends, and the entire Canadiens organization during this time of great loss.”
