Sadie Gochis Killed in Homosassa Shooting; Suspect Surrenders After Hours-Long Standoff
HOMOSASSA, Fla. — A tragic shooting on Friday morning resulted in the death of Sadie Gochis, authorities confirm. The suspect, 37-year-old Michael Lee McClellan, fled into a home after the incident, leading to a tense hours-long standoff.
A Marion County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called in to assist local Citrus County deputies. Following prolonged negotiations, McClellan eventually surrendered and was taken into custody. Tragically, investigators discovered Gochis dead inside the residence.

Sheriff David Vincent commented on the challenging situation, stating:
“This was an emotional and dangerous situation from the start… While we’re grateful the situation didn’t escalate further, we’re saddened by the tragic outcome. Our hearts go out to the family of the victim.”
