Richard Barry Randolph, 63, is set to be executed Thursday evening for the 1988 rape and murder of his former manager, Minnie Ruth McCollum, at a convenience store in Palatka, Florida.

Prosecutors say Randolph beat, strangled, stabbed, and raped McCollum, then stole her car.

The method of execution will be lethal injection, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Florida State Prison near Starke.

All appeals have been exhausted — the Florida Supreme Court denied him relief, and his final appeal is pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.
