Raymond L. Fritz, who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on September 2, 1948, in La Junta, Colorado, to Robert and Mildred (Johnston) Fritz. Raymond was raised in Las Animas, where he attended Las Animas schools and graduated in 1966.

Raymond was raised in Las Animas, where he attended Las Animas schools and graduated in 1966. He worked for Wilkinson Implement before enlisting in the Army on August 16, 1968. On December 29, 1968, Raymond married Peggy Gardner, the love of his life. A graveside memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. on February 3, 2025, at Fort Lyon National Cemetery in Las Animas, Colorado, with Pastor Rod Coulter officiating. Military Committal Rites were provided by American Legion Post #6 and V.F.W. Post #2411. Per Raymond’s request, cremation took place, and there was no visitation. SECO News+2SECO News+2
