On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 19, 2025, two North East Independent School District (NEISD) school buses were involved in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 281 in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred around 4:10 p.m. near the Redland Road and Sonterra Boulevard exit. The crash involved two NEISD school buses and a car. A Northeast ISD spokesperson confirmed that two buses from Tejada Middle School collided with each other on U.S. 281 between Encino Rio and Redland Road. The crash caused significant traffic delays, with the closure of the far right shoulder and two right lanes, leaving only two lanes open. Traffic was severely impacted, with delays of up to 20 minutes and highway speeds reduced to approximately five miles per hour. MySA
