The search for missing Lincolnton resident Robert Wolf Jr. has ended in tragedy.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Lincolnton Police Department, confirmed Monday that Wolf’s body was discovered behind a Food Lion store on East Main Street. Wolf, 53, had been missing since Friday, July 4, when he was last seen at his home on Little Street.
Sheriff Bill Beam stated that investigators are now treating the case as a death investigation. An autopsy is pending to determine the cause and manner of death. No details have been released regarding possible foul play, and authorities are asking anyone with information about Wolf’s movements between July 4 and his discovery to come forward.
