The suspect vehicle was reported to be a 2019 Porsche Boxster, travelling well above the posted 30 mph limit, and the driver allegedly was impaired by alcohol and/or drugs. New York Post+1

The victims

  • Sophia Akimi Troetel, age 21, a student at the University of Arizona. New York Post+1

  • Katya Castillo‑Mendoza (full name reported as Katya Rosaura Castillo Mendoza), age 21, later died in hospital from her injuries. New York Post

The driver, Louis John Artal, age 19, has been charged with:
