We are heartbroken to share that Mia Sims, a bright, beloved 18-year-old and recent Class of 2025 graduate of Jackson High School, tragically lost her life today due to a violent shooting in Jackson, Michigan.
Mia was the cherished niece of Mayor Daniel Mahoney and his wife Semaj Mahoney (of the Murray Family)—well known and loved within our community and members of our Church of God (COG) family.
We lift the entire Mahoney and Murray families, the JHS Class of 2025, and our COG youth in fervent prayer during this unimaginable time. Let us surround them with love, strength, and unwavering support.
