Jacob’s journey in education began over a decade ago when he joined Scarborough Public Schools. He served as a social studies teacher at Scarborough Middle School and later became the athletic and activities director there. His dedication to students extended beyond the classroom; he was also the head coach of the boys’ varsity ice hockey team at Scarborough High School, earning recognition as the Class A South Coach of the Year in 2019 The Portland Press Herald+1. In July 2020, Jacob was appointed as the assistant principal at Scarborough High School, a role he embraced with enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility The Portland Press Herald.

Throughout his career, Jacob was known for his approachable demeanor and his genuine care for the well-being of students. He believed in creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student could thrive. Colleagues and students alike admired his ability to connect with others and his dedication to fostering a positive school culture.
