Horrific Tragedy in Ponchatoula: Road-Rage Shooting Claims Young Mother
On August 24, 2025, 17-year-old Katelynn Strate was shot in the head while riding in an SUV in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, during a suspected road-rage incident. At seven months pregnant, she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors immediately placed her on life support and performed an emergency C-section. Her baby girl, born weighing just under four pounds, survived and is currently receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Despite the medical team’s efforts, Katelynn’s injuries were too severe. She tragically passed away after being taken off life support.
