BREAKING: Manslaughter Charge Added in Fatal Vermont Motorcycle Crash

Ellen E. Willson, 38, of St. Albans, now faces a felony count of involuntary manslaughter.

This is in addition to two earlier felony charges:

Gross negligent operation with death resulting

Gross negligent operation with serious bodily injury

Three new Vermont State Police affidavits were filed.

A certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) initially found no clear signs of impairment, but later revised his opinion after consulting his mentor.

Willson allegedly deleted a message on her phone at the crash scene before it was seized by police.

A witness claimed on WCAX-TV’s Facebook that Willson was “wasted” and had asked her for a ride.

Another witness who did give her a ride believed she was on drugs, citing his experience as a rescue squad member.

Location: U.S. Route 2 near Savage Point Road, North Hero, VT

Willson’s truck crossed the center line, hitting two motorcyclists:

Hunter Rounds, 20, was killed

Jason Rounds, 51, was seriously injured and underwent several surgeries

⚖️ Legal Process

Judge Navah C. Spero found probable cause for the manslaughter charge on Sept. 10.

Willson is scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 9.

She was previously released with conditions, including no driving.

A prior May 2025 incident showed Willson went off-road in a separate crash.
