Albany Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing of 33-Year-Old Darius Jackson
ALBANY, GA — The Albany Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that claimed the life of 33-year-old Darius Jackson early Thursday morning in the 1000 block of E. Tift Avenue.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 2:30 a.m. following reports of a violent altercation. Upon arrival, officers found Jackson suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have not yet released details about a potential suspect or motive but confirmed that the case is being treated as a homicide. Detectives spent several hours at the scene gathering evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses.
“This was a senseless act of violence,” said an Albany Police Department spokesperson. “We are urging anyone who may have seen or heard something to come forward. Even the smallest detail could help bring justice to Mr. Jackson’s family.”
