I’m deeply sorry to hear about the tragic loss of Derrick L. Mason. According to the Louisiana State Police, on September 14, 2025, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Mason was driving a 2020 Freightliner south on U.S. Highway 165 near Louisiana Highway 524 when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck left the roadway, struck several trees, and overturned. Mason, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
