Bruno Zuccala, a cherished figure in the Drum Corps International (DCI) community, passed away on March 12, 2021, at the age of 93. Born on November 1, 1927, in Adore, Italy, he was a son of the late Domenick and Serafina Taliano Zuccala. Bruno was a professional tailor who formerly owned Bruno’s Cleaners and Tailors on South McKean Street in Butler before being employed at Frank Cicco Tailors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. Bruno was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where he was an usher, a member of the Men’s Choir, and a volunteer for the parish’s festivals and spaghetti dinners. He was also a lifetime member of the Sons of Italy and a founding member of the Butler Bocce Association. Additionally, Bruno belonged to VFW Post 249, the Butler Vagabonds Parents Auxiliary, and the V.A. Diabetic Group. He served as a volunteer interpreter for the Social Security and Welfare offices in Butler and as a tailor for the Slippery Rock University Marching Band and Color Guard.
