8-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in South Bend Shooting; Woman Also Wounded
South Bend, IN — The city of South Bend is reeling after a tragic shooting Sunday night left an 8-year-old girl in critical condition and a woman injured.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Lindenwood Drive near Birchwood Lane, in the vicinity of the Laurel Woods Apartments. Emergency responders arrived to find both victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
The young girl was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition. The woman, whose injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, was also treated at the scene and taken to the hospital for further care.
Police have not released any information on potential suspects or a motive, and no arrests have been made as of Monday morning. The investigation is ongoing.
