On the morning of August 8, 2025, a tragic incident occurred at a dispersed campsite south of the Sierra Brooks community in Sierra County, California. Deputies responded to a report of a possible deceased individual and discovered a woman who had died, along with a man who appeared incoherent. The man was later identified as 36-year-old Jesse James Dallmann of Sun Valley, Nevada. He was arrested on homicide charges and booked into the Nevada County Jail. KCRA

The identity of the deceased woman has not been publicly released, and the circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation. The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office has stated that they believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Assistance was provided by the California Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Science and detectives from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office. KCRA
