Middletown Mourns Loss of Edward Roberts Jr., 39, in Fatal East Lampeter Crash

MIDDLETOWN, PA — The community of Middletown is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Edward Roberts Jr., who passed away in a serious car crash in East Lampeter Township in the early hours of July 26, 2025. He was 39 years old.

According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, Roberts Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene following a two-vehicle collision that occurred just after 2:00 a.m. along Lincoln Highway East, near the intersection with Greenland Drive. First responders arrived to find both vehicles severely damaged, with one person trapped inside.

Roberts was the driver of one of the vehicles and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger in the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their identity has not been released.

The East Lampeter Township Police Department is actively investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities have not yet said whether speed, impairment, or road conditions played a role. No charges have been filed at this time.

Family and friends describe Roberts as a devoted father, a hard worker, and someone who could light up any room with his humor and warmth. His sudden passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.
