Man Fatally Struck While Standing Naked on I-85 in Cherokee County
Gaffney, S.C. – A tragic and unusual accident occurred early Thursday morning in Cherokee County, when a man was struck and killed while standing naked in the middle of Interstate 85.
According to the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office, 911 dispatchers received multiple calls around 3:25 a.m. reporting a naked man standing in the southbound lanes of I-85 beneath the Pleasant School Road bridge. Authorities responded to the scene shortly after and confirmed the man had been fatally hit by a passing vehicle.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and the circumstances leading to the incident remain under investigation.
