BALTIMORE, MD — Emergency responders rushed to Walter P. Carter Elementary School on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after reports of a possible drowning incident involving an individual found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. The school, located at 820 East 43rd Street, became the center of a rapid emergency response after a medical helicopter crew in the vicinity overheard the radio call and quickly diverted to the scene.

According to officials, the individual, whose identity has not been released, was discovered near a school-related water feature. On arrival, first responders immediately initiated life-saving measures, including CPR and advanced cardiac life support.

The victim was stabilized on-site before being airlifted to a nearby trauma center. Authorities have yet to disclose the condition of the patient but confirmed that the swift response was critical in the emergency intervention.
